A Sunday Drive in Brazil

During our recent vacation in Brazil, I had the pleasure of going for a ride in a Ferrari 550 Maranello. Not just a spin around the block, but a 12 mile drive between Alphaville and Sao Paulo. I captured the whole drive to Sao Paulo on video.  If you're not into watching the entire 9 minute video, here are some highlights:
2:00 - We hit 200 km/h - roughly 125mph
6:00 - to the end - Driving through Brazilian traffic at high speeds in a Ferrari

The audio didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but the actual sound of the engine is amazing. Check out some pictures of the car on Flickr.

The best part is that I actually got to drive it back to Alphaville from Sao Paulo. On the way back I hit 245km/h (roughly 150 mph) and I was well on my way to 200mph until we spotted a federal police (like our state troopers) car about a mile ahead of us. The car is simply amazing to drive, it feels like it runs on rails. Steering, throttle, clutch, shifting are all smooth and very responsive. I'd love to drive one on the track and really put it to its limits. Definitely one of the high points of the vacation.
